Each word in an English phrase serves a specific purpose.
In English, there are eight parts of speech:

5 Adverbs that characterise a verb, adjective, or another adverb include rapidly, extremely, and well.
6 The prepositions in, on, at, and under indicate the location, time, and direction of the words.
7 Conjunctions that join words or sentences include and, but, because
8 Interjection Wow, oh, hey!demonstrates a strong emotion or response
